Mechanic

Hull’s is looking for a diesel mechanic who is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repairs of company vehicles.

Job Duties and responsibilities:

  • Schedule and ensure required inspections of company vehicles are performed and meet the desired standard
  • Perform routine maintenance/repairs on company vehicles crucial to the safe operation of the fleet
  • Schedule and ensure that all safety related repairs and driver requested repairs are performed daily
  • Protect the health and welfare of all employees by enforcing best fleet safety practices
  • Keep tools, equipment and shop area clean and organized and in good working condition
  • Complete and submit company forms; work orders, purchased parts/equipment, fleet records, etc.
  • Must be willing to work beyond normal work hours, must be available for night-time/weekend work
  • Understand and comply with all DOT regulations and applicable laws
  • Comply with on-going and random drug testing/physicals as required by the Company

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 3 years in the mechanic trade; to include small and large vehicles and equipment. ASE certification a plus
  • Must have own tools (company to purchase specialty tools)
  • Commercial Driver License with clean driving record preferred
  • Must be able to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles
  • Work requires heavy lifting, manual labor
