Hull’s is looking for a diesel mechanic who is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repairs of company vehicles.
Job Duties and responsibilities:
- Schedule and ensure required inspections of company vehicles are performed and meet the desired standard
- Perform routine maintenance/repairs on company vehicles crucial to the safe operation of the fleet
- Schedule and ensure that all safety related repairs and driver requested repairs are performed daily
- Protect the health and welfare of all employees by enforcing best fleet safety practices
- Keep tools, equipment and shop area clean and organized and in good working condition
- Complete and submit company forms; work orders, purchased parts/equipment, fleet records, etc.
- Must be willing to work beyond normal work hours, must be available for night-time/weekend work
- Understand and comply with all DOT regulations and applicable laws
- Comply with on-going and random drug testing/physicals as required by the Company
Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 3 years in the mechanic trade; to include small and large vehicles and equipment. ASE certification a plus
- Must have own tools (company to purchase specialty tools)
- Commercial Driver License with clean driving record preferred
- Must be able to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles
- Work requires heavy lifting, manual labor
